Friday Festivities

I am usually lead caregiver on Fridays, and part-time caregiver Krissy and I have come to love celebrating Fridays, or Fri-YAYs as we call them. It is a lovely reminder each week of how lucky we are to be here, and to celebrate the little moments we get to share in each day with the chimps. Today was no exception, and we celebrated with some gatorade pools for the chimps, as well as a forage on Young’s Hill at lunch.
The weather was perfect today, with the sun shining and a slight breeze. The chimps were all in a great mood, and there was lots of chimp laughter that could be heard throughout the chimp house.

I just love watching everyone be silly! Something about Gatorade pools just puts everyone in a good mood.
Burrito with his hammer in his mouth and a slinky on his foot! I just had to laugh! Missy with her to-go cups of Gatorade! Everyone’s feeling the Friday love!
Love to see Burrito drinking and trying to tap his foot at the same time!
Normally, Bubba is the most excited for the drinks, but today it was Foxie!
And I’m not sure if it’s Ellen or Krissy giving Foxie her dolls, but I detect some time on the drum line!
That was wonderful! Burrito loads up on his electrolytes and grabs his Slinky ankle wristlet and the fun begins. He is just so ridiculously funny! And Jamie was totally into the Gatorade pool. I loved her chirps and grunts and I believe I heard a dinosaur moan. She seemed so pleased! As did Missy! Thanks for pointing out her numerous trips to the Gatorade pool. She’s very industrious. Was hoping we’d see Neggie venture down to join in the fun and then I wondered if perhaps she asked Missy to deliver a cup full to her! A sanctuary version of DoorDash! Thanks for the photos (proving Neggie couldn’t resist the Fri-YAY fun!)
