Burrito’s 39th Birthday Snowmageddon

January 6, 2022 by Anna -

Share with your friends!

The view from our security camera pointed at the driveway.

Today Burrito turned 39! Not only did he turn 39, but he turned 39 in the middle of one of the craziest snow storms I’ve ever witnessed in Central Washington. If you know Burrito, a snowmaggeddon is a fitting party that Mother Nature through for Mr. B-the avid snow snacker.

This morning we woke up to several feet of fresh powder and a warning from the local fire department not to drive the highway that leads us to the sanctuary. A few of us did eventually make it in to help Diana and JB who live on the property and we did our best to shovel/clean enclosures/ and fill the chimps with birthday party food.

Unfortunately, the birthday  pasta video won’t make it up tonight as my own power at home where I am now writing this blog has gone out, and my phone is on its last battery legs.

Stay cozy everyone and happy birthday Bub!

Everybody be careful and stay safe. freezing rain on top of all this snow makes for dangerous roads. Happy Birthday to the energizer charmer. There is no one like Bubba. Thank you Anna and lots of appreciation to Diana and JB as well as the entire cast and crew.

Anna, when I responded a moment ago, it looked more like an email than a usual blog post. so if this is a duplicate, please forgive.
I am glad that everyone is OK. I am glad that Mr. B got his birthday pasta. I’m grateful that you still took time to make a video for us, even with all of the extra work that you had to do to get into work, just so that Mr. B could feel the love (and Diana and JB could get some help). Thank you so much for your dedication to the chimps-even if they can’t say the words, I know they appreciate you as much as we do.
We might be due for 5-8 inches tomorrow ourselves (it’s not an exact science here on the island)

Stay warm! Snuggle up to that adorable little Luna!

I also sent my blog comment as a message, has that part of the form always been there? Maybe I don’t pay close enough attention.

I guess it wouldn’t be winter without at least one storm where you think “how on earth am I going to get to work!” Thanks for the heads up, I’ll look forward to that decision myself in a day or two. It’s at this point I throw up my hands and think “April is coming soon, I wonder if I really need to shovel? If I just gun the car really hard I can get over that snowbank!” Happy Birthday Mr B, and thanks to everyone who made the extra effort to make his day special. I’m sure he felt the love.

I think that it may have to do with Anna doing the.blog from home. Maybe? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
Hang in there, Betsy! one more day, and you get positive digit tenps!

Oh Yay! Thanks Linda, happy news. I do have to say it was a beautiful day here, the sun shining on the new white snow, so cold it made my brain snap awake! Felt good! Bless Anna for having a hard day and then dealing with power outages, and still managing to post a blog entry.

With a baby on the house, no less! Yes, my friend in Afton said it was so cold, she wasn’t going out. Just stew and curries, and toasty kitties, and books!

Yes! I’ve never texted out a blog before! I think I fixed it now that I’m back on a working computer.

According to the app on my phone it states you had 22″ of snow and it’s still falling. I can’t believe some of you made it in, thankfully safely! The CSNW family is loyal and devoted the core. I hope everyone made it home safely.

Only Burrito would be happy with Snowmageddon making headlines on his birthday. Will wait patiently for when the snow duties are finally over and you have time to share the celebration with us. Sending Burrito wishes for a spectacular 39th year. I hope he celebrates for 365 days. Love you Mr. B!

(PS: Am I the only one seeing the face in the snowbank?! 🙂 Seriously, 2 debossed eyes, a snowball nose and a little Mr. Bill of a mouth. Even the snowbank is saying “Oh no! More snow!”)

It DOES look like Mr Bill!
