Missy in her element

There is no doubt that Missy is the athlete of the Cle Elum Seven. Her strength, agility, and playfulness amaze and amuse us everyday. Young’s Hill is her playground. Whether she’s climbing the tall bamboo, sprinting up and down the hill, or walking “tightrope” on the fire hose, she’s always on the move.
Most of yesterday’s snow has melted, allowing the chimps to venture out onto the hill without having to walk in the cold stuff. There are still plenty of patches to eat, though, so there’s been lots of activity outside today despite the chilly temperatures. Missy has been having a great time.
She did quite a lot of tightrope walking:
She also did some sprints.
Missy is happy to play by herself, but sometimes she comes to a dead stop mid-sprint:
and looks behind her to see if anyone is chasing her.
Today she was on her own, but you can see by her playface below that she was okay with that.

These photos should be sent to Nat Geo! They are spectacular and capture a few wonderful moments of a wonderful chmp! We are so happy that Missy’s life, changed dramatically when she was taken from Africa and put into unnatural and frightening settings, has taking this positive turn and that she has the hill on which to run and play and be a chimp. Those 7 chimps are so happy at CSNW. As the hill becomes more and more familiar to them, a safe and fun place to be, the more they will be the chimps they were meant to be. Love Missy! What a gal!

I can only imagine how joyous the freedom of running must be to them now.
Wow, sprints, mid air moves, stops and turns, its all so magnificant to see Missy truly revelling in the glory of Youngs Hill,, its so apparant what a chnage this hill has made to them all, but Missy certainly has owned it,,shares it with her best friend and commarade Annie,, all the chimps lives have been changed and blessed by exploring, and spending time and countless hours on their hill…!
They truly do feel FREEDOM..
I guess Missy must of worked up quite an appetite, after her vigorous workout in her playground.. all that tightrope walking, running,climbing,sprinting, and fun, must make her so hungry and thirsty.
wow! that is just amazing. I had not realized it snowed up your way – what fun to see Missy out enjoying herself like that…that’s what life is all about – getting to be out, to be free, to run around when you are vital…I love it!
