Oprah sending a dangerous message
May 15, 2009 by Sarah -
Oprah had a baby chimpanzee and baby orangutan on her show today. She does a lot of great things for animals (including this about our good friends at ALDF!), but unfortunately she and her producers were misguided about this issue. The orangutan and chimpanzee were provided by TIGERS, a facility known for purchasing and breeding “exotic” animals, as well as providing them for film and TV. Please give the Oprah folks some feedback: both that this choice was a mistake and that they should use their power to shine light on true chimpanzee sanctuaries. For talking points, visit our Primate Patrol site.

Oh please! What is the matter with Oprah? For a smart woman she can be very dumb!!
I will absolutely write in about this ~ Oprah has more grass roots leadership power than anyone on the planet and it’s just so important that she, and her producers, are educated on this!!
Submitted feedback to Oprah via your link and also used the talking points you provided, thank you so much.
That is disappointing that Oprah had T.I.G.E.R.S on her show, they are not a reputable sanctuary for animals, they use animals to make money off of. I will also write a letter to Oprah……
