Can we talk about celebrating another year of Burrito??!! Tomorrow’s bash is going to be a celebration focused on the things he likes most in life, and we hope you’ll join us here on the blog tomorrow evening to see how charming Mr. B celebrated his 42nd birthday.

I’m happy for Lizz and Gordo that all is forgotten. Mystery question: Do chimps get brain freeze? Obviously, their hands don’t. Looking forward to Burrito’s Big Birthday Bash.
I remember a video where the fabulous Ms Fox was shivering from all the snow snackes, so they made her warm tea

Do they seem to recognize themselves/each other in the videos? Do they have favorites? (I still want them to check out Hercules on his Christmas scooter. When I saw Burrito got a new one, it reminded me again. Loooove to see Hercules happy on his scooter!)
I just knew a longtime friendship like the one Gordo has with Lizz was not going fizzle out because of a silly misunderstanding. Yippee for Gordo never wanting end todays play date! Lizz, I trust you are zooming about in your new slip-free boots today? 😉

What a beautiful friendship between staff and chimps! It warms my heart to see the love and tenderness. Thank you for the wonderful videos and posts.
Do you think the chimps get brain freeze from eating the snow? I imagine it would be as cold to them as it us to us.
I was just gonna say that! The chimps should watch Hercules. Oh and I also remember the shivering Honey B. She was sitting out in the chute.
There must be something magical about that snow and the intense expression on sweet Annie’s face clutching her snow with a little more close by to snack on. Glad that Gordo and Lizz are best pals again and I wish I had some your energy, Lizz, watching you racing around Gordo’s enclosure. Clearly you have fully recovered from your fall.
All in all a fun day and :cake::icecream::birthday:even more fun and games abound tomorrow when Burrito celebrates his birthday in grand style with the gang. Magic moments to be treasured.
so as I said the other day, I missed a lot last summer. I just watched the video of HoneyB, WillyB and Mave’s five year anniversary. What a great video! I loved loved loved the way Cy and HoneyB danced and jumped together. And then honey B took.FOUR pasta bowls. Hysterical!. That’s my girl!!
So glad Gordo has forgiven and forgotten! You know you’re back in his good books when he doesn’t want to stop playing!
I love how polite Annie always is when she’s sitting and eating. She’s just very politely munching on the snow while watching TV. And her skin… I’ve got to know what her secret is because she always looks AMAZING!
Also a big happy birthday eve to everyone’s favorite crazy, silly, soon to be 42-year old teenager!

It’s hard to say for sure. We think we have seen it, but very rarely. They can consume quite a bit of snow!

That’s a good practice to celebrate Burrito every day. What will be interesting is to see how Gordo reacts when Lizz and Jenna are together again. Jenna was off yesterday, and now we are wondering if it might be the combination of the two of them that worries Gordo.
I was being extra careful on the steps. I have tried to figure out if they recognize themselves on the TV. I would think they could, since they recognize themselves in mirrors, but I don’t have a lot of evidence to say they recognize themselves in videos, except that Jamie does seem to prefer videos that have her in them! They do seem to recognize other chimpanzees, at least some of them do. Willy B also has a preference for videos starring Jamie. I’ll try to remember to show them the video of Hercules. Honey B would probably enjoy that clip!
Yes, that’s true. Foxie can sometimes overdo it!
I can’t say for sure if chimps get brain freeze. We think we’ve seen it on just a couple of occasions, but they seem to be able to eat quite a bit of snow. Like Linda pointed out, we have seen them shiver after eating a lot of snow, and we respond by serving up some warm tea.

Diana, do the media fund bookmarks arrive separately? I got my notepad yesterday (as if I could wait until the next day to read the blog!:smile:), but no boomark.
I just love it because he is very obviously enjoying himself, and we all know that we love to see them enjoying themselves! It’s on my “happy!” video list. a list of short videos that I can watch in a minute or two that I will remember to watch now and then when I need something to pick up my mood.
Well, of course it would be Jamie, and of course she would prefer those!
I thought Willy B would remember that he couldn’t handle Jamie. She’s too much for any man!:grin:
I think it’s because we get brain freeze when the cold hits our soft palate at the roof of our mouth. they tend to wadge the snow between their gums and their bottom lips, so I think that’s why we don’t see it as much.

No, never shared the whole list. There are non-CSNW yhings on it. But Christmas 2015, Thanksgiving 2018, “Sharing”, “Contraband”, “Snake Hunters!”(the one you made outnwith rolling cast credits at the end), and the first appearance on Mr Bs birthday of the pasta cam…was it really 7 yrs ago!?
