Rayne and Snow

On November 17th, 2024, we had our first snowfall!  (I’ve been waiting for my opportunity to share this sweet video with you and today is the day!)

Rayne was very excited to get outside, but was unsure of the snow on the decking of the chute.  She made it to the end of the chute without touching her feet to the snow, but then she had a decision to make.  Will she brave the cold snow on her warm feet to do a little exploring?  You probably already know the answer.  That Raynie is quite the explorer!

Oh, Krissy, that title is Chad-and-Anthony-worthy! No one escapes…..
Ooh, we’re at the tail end of some 20-degree-with-30-mph-wind-gusts here, had just a dusting of snow on the ground when I awoke this a.m., the first of the season, and it’s melting off. Back to sunny and 30s/40s for the next two days…all of that to say that I sit here with one hand outside the thumb holes of my fleece topper, and I’m feeling the cold Rayne’s toes must have been feeling! Did she get some warm tea later? And wgen was the last time Beezus got some decaf? 🙂

It’s Rayning! isn’t Rayne just wonderful! She’s got some of that Honey B spunk. we’re having a bit of a cold spell here in Florida. I think yesterday was the first time I put on long pants and real shoes (as opposed to shorts and flip-flops) in about five years!

It’ll warm up here real soon. We usually get about three weeks of winter. Maybe I should auction off my guestroom for one of our fundraisers!??

Linda, I loved your description with your thumbs poking through!

Considering that the first snow of the season tends to overly wet (at least that is the tradition here in Minnesota), I applaud Raynie the Ranger for her fortitude. Even so, I can’t help wishing that she had a pair of boots, a winter coat, and a hat to wear for her excursion. Then again (assuming that her feet are water-proof), maybe she did, and does.

You go, Raynie!!! Looks like she’s becoming a true Pacific Northwest mountain chimpanzee!

What a wonderful look at a combo of bravery, inquisitiveness, smarts and adaptability with a “picture perfect” photo and “spot on” musical accompaniment besides. Destined to be a classic! Thank you Rayne and Krissy!.

Rayne’s footprints! (thanks for sneaking that photo in.) I love her adventurous side. Nothing stops her. Rayne was moving across the boardwalk in slow motion probably contemplating if this adventure was worth it. But the climb to the top of the structure, to sit there with a wadge of snow in your mouth while taking in the glorious view, worth it!!
