2024 Wrap-Up

I thought I would leave you with our end of the year wrap-up. Our long time follower, Ozzie, sums up our year so perfectly! I have linked some of the blogs for all of you to enjoy.
And with much anticipation, here it is:
“Ozzie’s Annual CSNW New Year’s Gongs:
My annual year in review! This one has been a tough one. But without further ado:
2.Willy B Brando swaggers unconfidently to second in charge.
3. Cy wins the Easter Egg hunt!
4. Jamie forces JB into thigh high psychedelic boots for a march around the hill!!! Cher applauds Jamie from Malibu!
5. Gordo thrives in his PRT training.
6. Rayne masters her beauty regime
7. Annie turns 50!!!! Banana cream pies all around!
8. Gordo screams at wounds but can’t stop looking and screaming.
9. Dr Z’s patients of the year: Honey B loses an eyelid; Willy B almost loses a toe; Meredith goes to the big hospital
10. We do have a new category: Video of the Year. Hands down? Pan Hibernatus.
11. Two biggest achievements this year: everyone goes out onto the Bray (some in the heat of battle but everyone has been out now!)
12. Burrito climbs a tree. This one was a particularly bittersweet moment for me. My partner of 25 years died and this was the last video she saw. Tears of joy.
13. Finally: in memoriam. This year saw the passing of so many supporters of the sanctuary. We also sadly lost our beautiful big boy Nutmeg. And we sweetly remember Jody – every day.
And thus we end 2024 – a rough year for everyone except Burrito who held all of us on his laughing shaking shoulders.”

I can’t imagine Jamie getting 7 years of bad luck- not when she gets to live here!
On my list, I would have also included that play-by-play of the fight that got most of them outside, with JB’s commentary including the note on Lucky’s blanket car going off road for the first time :laughing:
I agree with your list, Ozzie. I am sorry for your loss, and ours: I always thought that we would have more time to share with Nutmeg and Jody.
This was the year that Burrito climbed a tree and a pan Hibernata was observed ascending Young’s.Hill “in search of a reason to have gotten out of bed. Finding nothing, she return(ed) to her den for another year.” In a year of many good videos, that documentary is best of all, a classic.
Dear Ozzie, your list is brilliant! Some moments I’d forgotten like J.B. and the thigh-high psychedelic boots! You certainly captured the year in a nutshell. I was sorry to hear about your personal loss but I smiled at your mention that Burrito Climbs A Tree was the last video your partner enjoyed. That’s our Burrito. Always there to make us smile even in the midst of our worst days. Burrito is a gift.
I might add a post by J.B. from March titled “Intelligent Life” where he educates everyone, with the help of Jamie and Willy B, like only J.B. can do.
Neggie eating her black eyed peas! She’s looking pretty happy in that photo. The photos of Jamie are the best. Only you, Kelsi, manage to capture this sweet, sometimes silly, soft side of Jamie. I love your photos of her!

Indeed we did!
I thought she was in a photo or video on the “winding down the season” video maybe the day after Christmas?
Aw. that is so sweet! Thank you. My dearest bestie got cancer, and I attended every single chemo with her as her chemo buddy. And housed her family and friends when they came to visit. So it was a busy year. But she is all clear now!
Of cpurse you did! Continued blessings upon you, and I’m glad she’s won that fight!
