Countdown to Jamieween!

October is one of the most exciting months here at CSNW. Between the respite of cool weather after a hot, dry summer and the excitement of Jamieween around the corner, it’s a month that everyone looks forward to. Speaking of Jamieween, we are only two sleeps away from the big party day!

As we countdown, I thought it would be fun to take a trip down memory lane and look back at previous Jamieween celebrations. 🙂

Of course, our Great Pumpkin Thief herself a la Jamieween 2011:

Jamie, circa 2013, enjoying party festivities:

2013 Negra enjoying a chunk of the great pumpkin:

2013 Foxie & Great Pumpkin:

2015 Burrito enjoying a pumpkin bowl:

2021 Annie, A Scarecrow, & A Pumpkin:

Missy, last year, with her pomegranate loot:

We’re prepping and getting excited for this year’s Jamieween celebration! Let us know your favorite Jamieween party memories in the comments so we can re-live all those good memories, together.

Also! There’s two other exciting things happening on October 31st. First, our annual Comfort & Joy Quid Pro Throw online auction opens up! Register to bid on items for the chimps that we will give to them on your behalf and also bid on unique items for yourself or for a loved one! We will be adding new items regularly, so you’ll want to check back in throughout. Plus, registering means you will have the opportunity to join us for a live zoom on Lucky’s birthday (November 6th). Be sure to register and get your account set up today, so you’re ready for when it goes live!

Also, Jamieween is the last day to vote for our 2025 CSNW Calendar Cover Photo. You can vote once a day through October 31st, so be sure to vote for your favorite!

I can’t wait for Jamieween! If I had to pick my favorite Jamieween of all, it would be the first year that Jody made off with that gigantic pumpkin. I laughed out loud. She was so sneaky absconding with it, dragging it along as fast as she could, hoping no one would see her. It is a wonderful memory to hold in my heart.

Thank you for this great selection of past photos!

I love Jojo’s dinosaur growls eating the pumpkin in 2018. And the smile on her face when she brought one in from the hill (was thst 2018, too?).

Well done, Linda! Yes, 2018 was the year of Jody, the great pumpkin thief. I was also thinking of 2017 (video is actually on November 1, 2017). Thanks for noting the year. I just went back to watch the video from both years. And both years, Negra followed up on the pumpkin noshing after Jody. So funny.

I also recall a year when Burrito stuck his entire head into the Great Pumpkin! Remember that?!

          Yes, just like Foxie here!
Was Buerito the year that they had it in the raceway, with Foxie, Annie, and Burrito all waiting their turn?

I also have to give little Foxie her well deserved cred for being the winner, more than one year, of the Great Pumpkin. Can’t wait to see who it will be this year!! I LOVE this celebration!

That’s my favorite Jamieween too. Jodie will always be the Great Pumpkin thief to me. I have never laughed so hard…I still miss her.

Thank you, Grace, for today’s blog and their accompanying photographs. How munificent of the Great Pumpkin Forager to share her treasure with her friends… albeit I assume that, by Royal Decree, Her Majesty would have had a claim on the pumpkin lid.

Yes!!!! Jamieween! I just can’t wait to celebrate this wonderfully spooky and smart lady (as if I don’t already do that every day)!

Jody and the great pumpkin episode is one of my favorite also. I also still miss Farmer Jo.
