New Boot Groomin’

During one of our donor visits, Jamie spotted a pair of cowboy boots she adored! The thing about wearing boots Jamie likes is that you might be walking out in your socks! Our very kind donor was gracious enough to part with her boots so Jamie could add them to her collection. To say Jamie was excited would be an understatement. When Jamie received her new boots, she wanted Diana to take a spin in them before we gave them to her officially. Obviously, if they did a walk around the Hill, they also needed to be groomed. At the end of the night, Jamie had her dinner on a barrel with her nighttime enrichment (peanut butter pine cones) and her new boots! She was a very happy lady 🙂

I was supposed to visit last year, and have to be honest: I thought about doing the same (except packing extra sneakers in my bag! :smile:) I’ll bet that donor is over the moon right now, I know I would be!
Diana, you are so trusting! When that stick headed for the camera, I said “I hope she has the second boot there”. Nope, no second boot–you were just trusting enough that you let Jamie hold a stick that close to your eyes! Good thing she loves you!
In the off-chance that I ever get to visit CSNW, I am taking an extra pair of footwear in case Jamie demands that the boots I’m wearing are the price of admission…I suppose that is a fair trade…

Those are some nice boots, I can see why Jamie would want them! And so generous of that donor to just hand them over with no back up pair of shoes! Many years ago, I had a pair of cowboy boots that Jamie really would have loved; lavendar suede uppers with purple leather on the bottom!
Oh, that Jamie woman and her many loves! Thank you, dear visitor, for your gracious contribution to Jamie’s happiness! Wonderful broken-in boots are a treasure and your willingness to part with yours shows a big heart. I don’t own boots but I know where some are known to stomp around, so you’ve given me an idea, thanks for that. Now I have this image of Jamie riding side-saddle in her boots on the back of a horse (or running bovine), whooping it up with a fancy black cowboy hat in one hand. Maybe Foxie could be right in back of her, holding onto Jamie’s waist. Yes, sometimes my mind rides away with me…

Well, that old Nancy Sinatra song said “Those boots were made for walking”, but Jamie can enjoy those boots any which way and she looks very pleased with them. Is it a kind of fetish with Jamie? A lovely gesture made by that donor. She might have lost her boots but what a worthy cause.

Forethought, tool use, and a wicked fashion sense. Richard Leaky would be very proud of Jamie. Lucky you, Diana, to take the first spin along the runway, errr I mean around Young’s Hill with the new boots and Jamie. Yay for the anonymous visiting boot donor! You are THE best! Sweet boot dreams to you and Jamie.
Wow! That’s one fine pair of boots! How lovely of the donor to offer them to Jamie! I’m assuming after the grooming session she built a nice big nest to enjoy them in. That gal certainly has a discerning eye when it comes to footwear!
I wonder if they removed their socks, too…make Annie happy while you’re making Jamie happy!
