Burrito Photo Contest!

Can you believe Burrito is about to turn 41 years young on January 6th? Sometimes I forget because it feels like his energy is never-ending. Every day we are so grateful for Burrito’s presence. He brings such a light to our lives with his easy-going, fun-loving personality. Life with Burrito is always full of laughter and joy. In celebration of Burrito’s 41st birthday we will be having a photo contest to have you all pick your favorite photo of Burrito, we will then be selling the photo with the most votes. I know we all want a photo of Burrito in our homes! We will post the contest every day on the blog, so you can vote once per day and you are welcome to vote for more than one photo! The contest ends on January 8th at 6:00 p.m. PT.

fun contest!
Though personally, next to Diana’s cover photo, my fav has always been Chad’s “hey, girl” photo where he’s sitting on the yellow plastic chair outside, staring at Chad, whom he really wants to go play with, but lunch is more important!
I also like seeing him check himself out in the mirror, and playing with Annie not so long ago, and he’s laughing as she bites his shoulder
Can’t wait to see who wins!
Personally…I like the picture where he’s eating the lettuce head at the top of the page:rofl: every bit his character that doesn’t show through on the other pictures
Good Lord…… now that I’m looking at the pictures….. he’s lost a lot of body mass over the years….Aging is a B… FEED HIM:apple::apple::corn::strawberry::watermelon::grapes::tomato::avocado::cucumber:
in the earlier photis, he’s pilo, so he looks bigger thanwhen he’s calm. But they give him and Foxie extra chow, because they’re both on the small side
Or is it “before the loss of testosterone”?! Did his surgery slim him down.
Hmmm, surgery and 2 snakebites…JB and Diana will say, but I do know they said he was on the liwer wnd if the weight scale.

You are very correct. The change in his testosterone levels changed his body composition some, as you would expect. He’s also less frequently pilo. He’s at a good weight for his size, which is certainly on the smaller size for a male chimpanzee, and he gets bigger portions at all meals, as do all of the guys at the sanctuary!
Thanks Diana! Amazing what testosterone (or lack there of) can do to a fellow. I see with dogs too. ?
I agree with Marie, choice and reasoning. The lettuce photo at the head of the blog.
While I agree about the lettuce pic and JB’s, I have to vote for Diana’s pic that made the cover of the wonderful book about the chimps. To me it’s Burrito looking his most “fetching” as well as his most “don’t I look innocent, what will I get into next?” pose. And those tufts of hair on his left shoulder are charming. He makes me chuckle no matter what he’s doing!!

Well on this blog I see a couple of pictures of burrito And Jamie and Rayne etc. I don’t see six photos of burrito to choose from to vote. Is it a different page than this?

Fact : There are no bad photos of Burrito.
Fun idea! All of the choices are excellent and show his sweet charisma! And please don’t groan but like Marie, that photo at the top of Burrito clowning with his half head of iceberg lettuce is my all time favorite. I keep it in your cardboard frame placed strategically in my studio right where it’s my primary focus. (It sits next to my small square canvas wrap reproduction painting of Negra looking up at the sun.)
Is it okay to vote for ALL of them?! 🙂

Jamie and her new Doc Martens! She looks like she’s doing yoga in her nest. Happy legs in the air with boot tucked securely in her pelvic pocket.

I’m having a hard time deciding on just one photo, I will have to make up my mind soon.
Wow, I’ve been transfixed by the white Doc Martens, if Jamie tires of them send them to me, you’re never to old for a pair :rofl:. My daughter used to love them and had many of them. Ok, back to deciding a favorite photo.

Well I’m not seeing them
At the bottom of the blog en tre, there should be a box that says “vote for photos of Burrito” that h a spics. zif you don’t see that nox, try refreshing your page. I’m on my phone and can see it
upon further observation I guess the boots aren’t Doc Martens, very cute anyway. Finally made my decision, it’s Hey Girl.

They are most certainly Docs, nothing but the best for Jamie. My guess is they may even be the Vegan Docs. Only Doc Martens have the yellow AirWair pull tabs and yellow stitching. Plus, the box has the Doc Martin logo in the corner. Jamie rocks every style, doesn’t she?! Cowboy, stable boots, work boots, thigh high fashion boots, and Docs. She’s into all of it! I love this about her.
Bubba simply doesn’t take a bad photograph (or video). I love photos of him in Young’s Hill, whether climbing a structure or scoring an armfull of watermelon.
My two favorites: A photo on Google images of him walking on a log, looking at the camera. I used that on the cover of New Year’s cards which I recently sent to friends. Also, I love the picture from 7.10.2015 of Burrito walking immediately to Farmer Jody’s right as she hauls in a mouthful of bamboo leaves.
If only I had inherited some of my Cousin Burrito’s good looks from our grandfather…
I voted for “Hey Girl,” but Bubba is so handsome, it’s impossible to take a bad photograph of that guy! My all time favorite is probably the one where he’s upside-down getting tickles from a caregiver.
Of course, it’s always wonderful to see Jamie enjoying a new pair of boots. I assume later she’ll have somebody put it on and go on patrol with her.
I was spoilt for choice as Burrrito is gorgeous in all his photos! Have to say I voted on Diana’s cover shot of this handsome boy. I can’t wait to see which pic gets the most votes. Mind you Jamie looked pretty cool with the white doc martins. I can see further best photo contests ahead this year.
I agree , the lettuce head is a favorite.
But my favorite favorite is the one from the greenhouse where he is upside down up against the caging.
