Animal Sanctuary Appreciation Day 2023

Today is Animal Sanctuary Appreciation Day – a day to highlight the dedication and hard work from staff and volunteers at animal sanctuaries all across the world. What we do every day is not easy, but it is worth it. Thanks for being here and supporting us!
I’d like to highlight all of the special humans at Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest. There are familiar faces and some new ones that you haven’t met yet! I personally think what is so great about our staff is that we have all come from different walks of life, have different backgrounds, are from various parts of the country, have different areas of expertise, have unique former experiences, but we all have come together in a small town in central Washington all because of our shared love of chimpanzees.

We also are so fortunate to have an amazing group of dedicated volunteers. We have volunteers who help us in the kitchen and with laundry, volunteers who help us clean, and volunteers who help serve meals and interact with the chimps. We are so thankful for each and every one of them. We recognize we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without them.

Team #1 ….we all appreciate you so much. Thank you for the great photos…..I hope the day will come when the masks can go, and we can see faces again. In the meantime, we have some ‘distinguishing features’ to go by!

someone did a wonderful job on the photos the chimps looks like they are sitting for a shoot. They are all beautifully awesome all of you thank God for you work and your caring. Sometimes I wish we knew what they were thinking maybe remembering the awful and taking in the wonderful that has replaced it.I am so glad I live when wonderful caring people are around.
You all are absolutely amazing. I cannot say enough great things about you all. Thank you so much for all you do from the bottom of my heart.
At first I wanted to say Thank you to everyone as we are all caretakers in a way. But yeah that thought left my mind immediately. (as in like 100th of a second!) As “Caretaker” I get to just read a blog every day and dole out a little money every now and then. Not doing the hard work! Though you all try to describe what it’s like there at the sanctuary, I’m quite sure you could never convey the true reality of the hard hard hard work you do. Physically and mentally and emotionally! It’s so hard to find the words to thank you, but thankfully many of the commenters up above have done so beautifully. So, ditto! and I am so very proud of you and proud to be your “supporter.”
