Winter Projects

Old man winter has “generously” provided caregivers with steady projects since November. Luckily, we have a system in place so the chimpanzees can still go outside and get fresh air if they choose to. Today we caught up from our other chores and made sure Jamie’s group got to stretch their legs on some freshly dug pathways!

It was so good to see the chimps having a ball in the snow thanks to your snow clearing. It looked hard work for you but well worth it! I also loved the video clip in the chimp house with Annie in the middle having a tussle with her pals. I wish I had their energy!
Mary thanks and stay safe and warm.

Oh, man, Anna, you shovel at home and you shovel at work!
I also enjoyed seeing Interrupting Annie nit being the interreptor for once .
Is little Luna enjoying all of the snow?!

Thankyou. Anna for the video of ” the trip up the hill”. They have no fear of cold or snow & march onwards! Who shovels your pathway!?:snowman:? Big thanks to all the caregivers who are able to be strong and do so many chores. ( I’m tired just watching)

Ohhh, cold feet and brave chimps going out into it! I loved seeing Strawberry Shortcake (or whoever that was) on the walkabout in the snow and hope she didn’t find herself dropped into a snow pile not to be retrieved until April!!

You are amazing. That’s a whole lot of shoveling to do over a big expanse. Your reward is seeing them willingly venture out to explore their backyard. (That, and a hot soak in tub when you get home, makes it all worthwhile!) I confess that I do the same for my dog.

Looked as if Burrito was ready to go in as soon as he made it outside. Perhaps he popped out to inspect your magnificent job.

Thanks for all you do every single day to improve the chimps and cows lives.

It will be interesting to see if the Californians become snow bunnies.

Wow. Should we be trying to crowd fund a ride on snow blower for the staff?
Or would one not work in the outside enclosures? Not sure as I never have to deal with deep snow.
Great work by those people who cleared the paths.
Thinking about it, there can’t be many people in the world who can say that part of their job is clearing snow for chimpanzees!!

As they go outside….looks like they are inspecting your work, and pronouncing it “Well done”!!
