Our sincere thanks to Colleen Walford for sponsoring this day of sanctuary in honor of the humans of the sanctuary!

“In honor of the staff and volunteers at Chimpanzee Sanctuary NW for all their work in 2022. It is such a pleasure to read about the chimps and see their pictures. Thanks for all the hard work by the staff and volunteers in sharing sanctuary life and events with your followers.”

Thank you for your kind thoughts and words, Colleen, it means to much. We so appreciate you (and all our amazing supporters) for being here with us and the chimpanzees. You make sanctuary possible. And I know I speak for everyone here when I say it’s an honor caring for all the amazing individuals who call the sanctuary home.

    Thank you, Colleen!

Katelyn, these pics remind me. I saw a thank you video from Save the Chimps. One of the WW chimps that they took in, Magic, looks an awful lot like Li’l Dora. Any idea if they’re related?

Hi Linda, Dora and Magic are not related. 🙂 However, Amber, who was in the last group of the WWS chimpanzees to be moved to their new home at Chimp Haven (yahooo!!), is a half-sibling to Dora and you may see similarities between them. Sadly, Amber’s twin sister, Alyse, passed away while at WWS in August. Gordo (half-sibling to Dora) is a full sibling to the twins. He, Dora, Amber and Alyse share the same father, Les.

Thanks for getting back to me, Katelyn. i think Magic and Dora look more alike than Gordo. will look again. Unfortunately, the other sanctuaries, being so big, make it hard to look into individual. chimps and their stories. Part of the charm of CSNW!

Thank you, Katelyn! That’s a better pic than CH had. She’s a cutie! Now…Mocha, Mousse, Tequila? Was the person who named those chimps hungry!?!

Thank you, Colleen, for sponsoring this day in honor of the humans who make the sanctuary what it is. I can’t think of a nicer way to end the year.

Always happy to help. Jane Goodall’s endorsement makes me proud, though I had nothing to do with the vision or building of CSNW. I had no idea WWS was in such bad shape. 🙁 And what a picture of Foxie! Never seen her look so great. (Yep, photos do a whole lot for me, and most of my comments have something to do with them.) Dear, dear Negra with her lilacs, my favorite flower. I wish her access to all the lilacs that may be available to her.

So sorry. Such a full blog today, I forgot to add my thanks to CSNW humans, and to thank Colleen for her kindness in her sponsorship. We all appreciate you, and often thank you, but her sponsorship is so perfect and so well-deserved.
