It’s hard to believe that Christmas is just a little over a week away! This morning, Caregiver Kelsi moved one of the fresh Christmas trees into the mechanical room for the chimps’ viewing pleasure. Each chimpanzee group will get a decorated tree complete with presents underneath for their holiday party next week. If you are interested in contributing to the chimps’ seasonal joy, check out our Amazon Wish List!

Cy peruses a magazine with Dora snuggled in next to him.

Bonus! Negra and her breakfast pomegranate.

Then there is Sam- ah , such a soulful spirit.Thank you all for this delightful day. Negra, enjoy. merry xmas to all & to all a good ……

Anna, I’m so glad you are putting up some Christmas pics. I recall several years ago a pic of one of the trees on Youngs Hill decorated with fruits and one of the chimps admiringly reaching for a slice. It was such a beautifull pic that captured the spirit of everythig that is Christmas and CSNW. These pics are so evocative of that as well. Of course care giver Sam likely photobombed the pic of Cy when she realized she was caught just lurking in the background , again! Was her previous profession as a popperazzi? LOL

This post made me think, for some of us newcomers, maybe you (CSNW) could post some pictures from Christmas Past?

NOW I’m in the holiday spirit! Thanks for these photos Sam.

Lucky’s close-ups are wonderful. And speaking of wonder…the new six must be wondering why a part of outdoors is covered in lights and placed inside their house. This crew is used to looking at plam trees so this must be puzzeling in an exciting way. Wait until they see what Santa delivers on Christmas day!

I am adjusting Nagra’s caption to read : “Bonus! Negra and her breakfast pomegranate and her rosey red pomegranate lips, with a little pomegranate crumb (a snack for later perhaps?) resting on her silky belly.”

I often wonder what they are thinking, what is going through their minds when they see something new like a Christmas tree, or a new face? What an almost peaceful look about their faces, they seem content with their new world, I don’t know, maybe I’m seeing what I want to see, but they truly look happy and content. Still, I would love to know.

    I love these sweet photos?

And, I keep meaning to say, I love the color of the new playrooms. The blue-gray walls with the gray caging. It’s so fresh.

And it makes for a really nice photos!

Thank you thank you for these sweet photos.?

Awww, Anna! Those are beautiful photos. I don’t ever remember one like the photo of Cy and Sam – the caregiver from the chimp’s point of view. That one is really special. thanks for all of them!
