We had our hands full this afternoon with the virtual tour for the Chimps in Need Campaign, but Anna somehow managed to snap a few photos of the Seven enjoying their Love a Chimpanzee Day celebration.

Don’t forget – you can help us welcome six more chimpanzees to Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest this year by donating on Monica and Diana’s GiveBig fundraising page or the sanctuary’s main GiveBig page.

Great tour by JB of the facilities new and old during the VERY Lucky Six presentation.

I would have loved the tour, but it was in the middle of the night ( I am on the other side of the globe…) so I skipped it with regret.
Would it be possible to put snippits of it on youtube J.B., or is that a whole lot of work??
( in that case, forget I asked ).

Hi Marianne – I’m sorry you couldn’t join us but yes, Diana will be posting the video to the blog at some point this coming week.

Banana leaves, how wonderful! I don’t think I’ve seen the gang with banana leaves before. It warms my heart seeing everyone with their arms and mouths full of healthy good veggies!

    Cheers to this special day!!

I think someone found some before (Kelsi, IIRC), and they cooked things with them.
In the Caribbean, they use them to make packets with grated plantain, taro, and seasoned, stewed meat/onions/peppers inside-then they’re wrapped/tied/boiled. Liked tamales, but with banana leaves and plantan instead of corn and corn husks.
