As the video above expresses, everyone here is incredibly grateful and honored that you choose to spend your time on this blog and thinking about the chimpanzees and bovines at the sanctuary.
I received an unexpected call today about a Valentine’s Day gift that I will be sharing tomorrow to e-news subscribers!
In the meantime, the news from the day is that Burrito has a new favorite toy. Another gift from Trees for Tigers! Below are a couple of photos and I posted a short video clip on our Instagram account.

It isn’t very hard to love ALL beautiful creatures ( humans included ) that have a home at the sanctuary.

La La LaLa, I love you all! And my heart just found a new little space to squish in the new chimps!! What a joy to finally see all their faces. I need to play the video again and pause on the new crew so I can drink them in.

I forgot to say how much I enjoyed being up close to see the bovines enjoying their meal in this video. Loved the soft munching sounds they make and the way they toss the hay with their noses.

Well, I just heard a gurgling sound at 3 am, and ran out to find my washing machine discharging water all over my mud room and kitchen, and I wasn’t even washing clothes. Thank you -25 plumbing freezing weather! So after using all the towels and blankets in my house to mop up the mess, I was so soothed by this video, and reminded that there is great hope in the world. The little, temporary messes are of no consequence, it’s the bigger things that matter. Thank you, as always, for this reminder.
