Different Chimpanzee Play Styles

Who you are depends on who you’re with, wouldn’t you agree?
There are some characteristics that carry over to be sure (note Burrito having something in his mouth in both of his clips in the video above), but part of the joy (and sometimes frustration) of being a social primate is the way that we learn about ourselves by being around other individuals. Our interactions with those around us shape how we feel and how we behave in any given moment.
Watching the chimpanzees certainly impacts how this humans feels. There’s nothing better to boost a mood than watching chimpanzees play with one another.

Neggie’s style kills me-she can slap, grab, tickle and punch with the best of them…as long as you don’t ask her to get up from where she is sitting! But I think my fav, next to an all-out Jamie-Foxie full contact wrestle, is Annie poking with those incredibly long fingers, like she’s hitting piano keys.
Hi Linda…I also get such a “kick” out of sweet Annie’s “piano finger” movements…Even if she’s just poking at someone, it seems to add an air of elegance to her persona… : )
LOL…Willy B has surely been frisky & “full of oats” lately, & I couldn’t be happier about it…So much fun to watch…& THEN…Well…There’s “Sweetie Boy Bubba,” & my heart instantly flutters…What else can I say…I find everything about him SO endearing…Of course, I love the “puddin” out of the eight girls as well… : )
Such a delight to see them playing, being silly, and having fun with each other. But I gotta admit I enjoy watching them play, eat, forage, hang out, run, patrol, climb, sleep………

Watching others can and does affect social animals. I know everyday i start my morning by watching and catching up on the Chimps playing at the sanctuary. It puts a Smile on this primates face all day long!!!
