Best Friends Playing Video

Share with your friends!

A couple of weeks ago, I took a short video of Annie play-poking Missy in a really sweet and affectionate way and thought it would be great to put on Instagram (@ChimpSanctuary). The video got so much play, I then shared it on the sanctuary’s Facebook page and watched as the number of views and shares far surpassed any other videos we’ve made. (20.7k views and 4,275 shares as I type this).

So, I thought I’d put together the video properly with the full screen view!

A lot of people tagged friends, spouses, family members because Annie reminded them either of themselves or others.

Enjoy!

And feel free to share 🙂

I had a. co worker that always poked you when she wanted to ask a question It reminded of her I used to volunteer at the Calgary Zoo before I moved to the west coast we didn’t have chimps but gorillas but the similarities between gorilla and human interactions especially when it comes to curiosity We always tried to enrich their lives with new experiences there favourite was when we showed them different animals from the zoo and they could examine them up close thru their outdoor window from their outdoor enclosure

Oh, thanks for sharing this with those of us not on Instagram or Facebook, Diana! Love it!
Funny that Missy wasn’t the instigator this time!

Precious the way Missy makes her hand available to Annie for a shake, finger tickle, or a gentle touch to keep the game going. I love these two! (And soon we will be celebrating Missy’s B-day!!) This video is best, love the music as it adds so much.

Annie reminds me of a slightly dialed-back version of Terry, the chimp who spent years alone in a Las Vegas zoo…he’s at a sanctuary down south now, and when he first got there, made a friend and wouldn’t let go of her hand….he had to be touching her constantly.
