Playful grooming

Missy and Annie were having a quiet grooming session this morning but they just could help themselves and before long Annie was playfully biting Missy’s toes.

JB — As Annie has grown in confidence have you noticed any differences in how she and Missy relate to each other? I know Annie is comfortable being on her own but does she relate to Missy any differently than she used to?
Good question…I don’t think their relationship has changed much in light of Annie’s newfound confidence. Missy still doesn’t treat Annie like an equal – she will ditch Annie to groom with the other more dominant chimps and she can still be a bully to Annie once and a while. But Annie handles it all a bit better. It’s possible that the other caregivers have noticed changes that I haven’t picked up on, though.
Everybody has lazy, not getting out of bed days. Rain, snow, they do it for me.
After all, nothing quite says “I love you” like biting your best friend’s feet…
