Ladies of leisure

After the chimps (even Negra!) spent a busy morning on Young’s Hill foraging for wild greens, exploring, playing, and guarding the perimeter against new intruders (neighbor cows), it’s been a pretty leisurely afternoon at the sanctuary. With warming temperatures, fresh air through open windows and doors, and a sun-drenched greenhouse, these ladies were soaking it all in.

Well, you do need to worry about invading neighbor cows! I wonder what the chimps think about the cows..guess pretty much what they would think about any ” creature ” close to their home.

What wonderful shots of Annie. They just make you smile.

Oh boy do these three beautiful gals know how to kick back and relax. The photo of Missy the Mover is adorable. I enjoy seeing her zoom about but it is such fun to be able to study her beautiful face when she is still. Oh so sweet!

I recently discovered the sanctuary and the hard and loving work of all those who have liberated and given these wonderful animals a chance at life. These animals are so close in every way to we humans, I can’t imagine what they suffered. Thank you for creating their home. Also, I am glad to know the sanctuary is growing and hopefully more chimpanzees will move in before too long. I am looking forward to the gala.
