Thanksgiving 2016
November 24, 2016 by Elizabeth -
Today we’re thankful for delicious feasts, for food squeaks, for volunteers who spend their holiday spreading joy to the chimps, and for all of you who have so much love for seven chimpanzees you probably haven’t met. It’s been a good day.

Most of the video footage we ended up with after today’s party happened to feature Burrito stuffing his face:

To all of you friends, supporters, volunteers, and well-wishers, thanks for giving Annie, Missy, Burrito, Jody, Foxie, Jamie, and Negra so much to be thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks! Just made my day watching Burrito dining.
Hah Burrito likes those brussels sprouts
I give thanks for your daily blog posts! They make me feel as if I am there. The video was great, it’s fun just to listen to all those happy grunts, squeaks, and calls. I couldn’t help but try to imagine how spartan, bland, and unimaginative their daily meals must have been for all those years. And here they are now, with you, celebrating Thanksgiving with plates full of scrumptious, healthy food. (Looks like my dinner menu!) Eat to your hearts content Burrito!
Happy Thanksgiving to each and every one of you!
Hope you had a nice holiday, Kathleen!
I had to laugh… right off the top, Annie holding two plates not sure where to start, Burrito moving from plate to plate to plate, leaving a trail of empty plates behind him, picking up leftovers as he passed. You guys are brilliant. So what was on the menu? Looked like sprouts, cranberry, grapes, sweet potatoes in the skin, and ? I almost thought it was Brie!! I don’t eat meat and Christmas is coming, I expect I’ll be having the same soon. Yum!
It was definitely a feast! They had mashed sweet potatoes, roasted Brussels sprouts, cranberry sauce, grapes, sparkling cider, dinner rolls (I think that’s what might look like brie?), and Field Roast (a really delicious brand of vegetarian “meat”). And pumpkin pancakes for breakfast!
Wow what a wonderful celebration. The food looks delicious and the guests were all so well behaved and enjoying themselves. I would like to have Thanksgiving with all of you next year:)
