Sanctuary Vantage Points

One of my all time favorite views of the sanctuary is from the top of Young’s Hill. From this spot you can see the Cascade Mountains and the Yakima River. You can see extensive forests of pine trees as well as the hustle and bustle of cars and trains going by. If you are lucky, you can spot chimpanzees taking full advantage of this beautiful weather.

I look for them when I drive by, but they must be inside when I go past. Because I haven’t seen them out on youngs hill.

Can The Chimps be seen from the Highway? If yes it must be an amazing sight.

It is hard to spot them, but sometimes you can.

Are there actual trees within the enclosure they can climb?

There are no trees, but there is plenty of bamboo they can play around with. There are several climbing structures that are secure viewing platforms for them to take advantage of.
