Nap time failures

When I was in kindergarten I “failed” nap time. After lunch we would all be instructed to get our personal mats out of our cupboards and lie down for a little quiet time. I clearly remember laying down my little rug and scootching up next to my friend at which point we would proceed to whisper and giggle, despite cues from our teacher asking us to close our eyes and rest. But of course, that’s what 5 year olds do, right?

Between a hot summer afternoon and full bellies from lunch, the chimp house has been still and quiet, all of us lulled by the warm breeze. Everyone grabbed some blankets after lunch and tucked away in a corner to nest and take a nap.

Here’s Burrito:

Well, almost everyone lied down to nap…Foxie and I were lying down next to each other whispering and giggling. I guess some things never change.

Loved this post! I am also a nap time failure. However, my sister was very good at napping just like the handsome Burrito. It must be wonderful to nap with a chimp!

I loved being there today and hearing your story of your special moments shared with Foxie. I’m glad that you didn’t wake Mr. B!!

I’m glad we didn’t wake Mr. B or the boss lady! 😉 Thanks so much for your amazing work with all that produce, Julie! I bet you went home and took a nap after all that! 🙂

I am another nap failure! And the close up shots of silly Foxie would have awakened me if I was dozing off! I am still laughing over those 3 photos! (might have to print those out and frame them up all together!) Oh how fun it must be to have these 7 fabulous friends in your life Katelyn.

How could you not stay awake laying next to Foxie? That would be a fun nap time!!! Great pictures, Katelyn, thanks.
