Playing in the sunshine
December 12, 2012 by Jackie -
It’s been another cold, yet sunny day today and a few minutes ago, six out of seven chimps were out roaming on the hill (can you guess who was inside?). As I rounded the corner of the greenhouse to see what was happening out there, I saw Missy just standing in the bamboo with a big playface:
Annie came running out of the raceway towards her, full speed ahead!
Her playful charge was pretty anti-climatic at first…

But it wasn’t very long before Missy engaged Annie, and a wild foot grabbing, tickling, and laughing chase game ensued.

Sometimes, play is serious business.

We’re a little jealous of your sunshine over there, but how nice for all the chimps to have the opportunity to play outdoors if they choose! Their wonderful outdoor space, the simple fact that they even HAVE outdoor space and open sky…I’ll never get over it. Fabulous work, CSNW!
Very well said!!! What a beautiful, magical, place to be. The CE7 and caregivers are perfect for each other
It wasn’t as nice on this side of the mountains, so I am glad that they had sun. It is nice to see the green coming back after the fire.
You gotta love those two girls and their rambunctious spirit. The sun always seems to have the same affect on me as well. Thanks for sharing the fun, Jackie!
Yea! Jealous of that sunshine though it sure did look like fun outthere running around on a birght, brisk day.
They are so lucky to be there safe playing and enjoying themselves and eating healthy food. I hope one day all chims used in entertainment etc. will find home in sanctuaries like this.
Those two have more fun together – they are really best buds!!
I’m sure when you’ve been cooped up in a cage for as long as they were, play – especially outside in the wide open – will always be serious business.
I hope Negra enjoyed her indoor nap by the window 🙂
