The other day, Elizabeth, Debbie and myself were in the greenhouse and we caught Foxie in a rare cross-legged moment.

And I was getting ready to post the photo, it occurred to me how frequently we catch the Cle Elum Seven chimps in non-chimp-like postures. So, here’s a collection of photos we’ve captured over the years.

Jackie, thank you for these delightful photos. Especially love the one of Annie reclining while grooming Misssy!

But they do all look so comfortable! So if these are non-traditional chimp postures, they must be adapting to their environment, learning to sit, lean and relax against various structures. These chimps make the best of an already good life, and I’m so glad for them.

I love when they sit with their legs hanging freely over an edge. At Chimp Haven, we used to refer to that as “sitting at the bus stop”. Thanks for the pictures.
