Last chance for sharin’ the love

I KNOW you have a secret crush on someone, and you want to confess to them via an inscription on a fence post at the sanctuary. Or maybe you reject traditional gender roles and think that boys like Burrito should have jewelry on Valentine’s Day too. Or perhaps you just really love the chimps and want to share your enthusiasm? We can help you with all these things. Place your order by tomorrow at 6pm so we can mail your sweetie a special chimp photo and Valentine’s Day card.

In all sincerity, your love for the chimps can go a long way. Check out the video below, of Negra on her first day in the playroom in June 2008. If you’ve known her for a while, I think you’ll be touched. If you’re just getting to know her, watch the video and then check out her new self here. I think you’ll fall in love too.

A whole new world opening up to her then—-very touching. Thank you Sarah.

From the first videos you can see in Negra’s eyes the trauma and stress, but over time her eyes got brighter and the smiles, how beautiful are her smiles that you’ve captured in photos. Negra has a special place in my heart for the injustice she suffered as a baby and it makes me happy to see her sitting or laying in the sun, casually inspecting her feet, playing with one of the other chimps, smiling at the goofy human tricks, or, as JB described in his post, getting so excited over her night bags. Love you Neggie!

I remember when I first saw this video, an “ahh” moment for me. The fact that Negra was already wanting a knuckle rub after being at CSNW for a short while. By the way, who took this video while up on a ladder?
