I enjoyed watching this in person as much as I enjoyed making the video. Jamie is endlessly fascinating. I love the intense purposefulness that she employs no matter what she’s doing.

Jamie’s artwork should be for sale! There are so many people who would love her pictures. Maybe some with markers…non-toxic paint…..anything.

Something for the next auction? Thank you for this Diana – Jamie’s mind is obviously WAY more organized than mine.

Jamie is such a joy to watch. You are right, Diana, I could watch her for hours. And never would get the answers as to what is happening in her mind! She is amazing!!! I love the photo you have started putting at the end of the videos. Thanks everyone.

Great video. I thought it was interesting how she kept putting the end of the pen in her mouth. So cute how she had to find just the right spot to create her masterpiece. Maybe she needs a desk. Sure would like to know what she was trying to say. I’m sure it was wonderful and clever. I love to see them do these sorts of things. And she has inspired me to collect nice cuddly blankets and drag them with me to get comfortable.
More videos like this please. Love them. 🙂

Thank you for sharing, Diana. As I sit in my own cramped writing space, I am impressed that Jamie instinctively/intuitively knows (better than I!) how to create just-the-right space for her creative, artistic endeavor. And . . . she is so focused!

I have a print of Jamie’s…matted and framed hanging prominently in my home. I love to show it off! I am amazed how careful she is to keep her art on the paper, not the floors, walls, etc. She is so fascinating and indeed, seems extremely intent on her tasks. What must she be thinking??????

I loved this….it was interesting to see her put her hand up and keep her finger on the caging for a moment…it seemed liked she was saying…don’t look until I’m finished or that the camera was a distraction or something! She is really something else! Soooo intelligent!

I was so fascinated by this…as an artist myself I was entranced by her deep commitment to her project. I could tell she was putting in some focused thinking about what she was doing – a deeper reasoning process that doesn’t seem to occur in daily behavior. I really did want to know what was going on in her mind.

Even though chimpanzees usually don’t behave like humans, I still find this to be one of the more fascinating things to observe. I guess I’m trying to understand the amazing evolutionary process that at one time had our two species so close.

Watching her be so careful and then be willing to give it a try with her right hand….so sweet and moving at the same time. She is incredibly delicate (hardly even punching through the paper)…..I could watch this over and over.
