Missy loves to groom herself using a tool. She often uses a piece of bark or straw that she finds on the ground, but if those aren’t doing the trick she will create a better tool.

She seems to have an itch in that particular spot. Seems like she chewed off part of the climbing structure. Won’t long before the whole thing comes tumbling down…..especially if she gets more itchy.

It looks so pointed and rather painful–wish she would turn it around to the other end. She is a clever girl!

Missy makes me think just how good my bamboo back scratcher feels when I need it most! ‘

Does Missy have a comb or brush?

We often put combs and brushes in the with the enrichment but Missy seems to prefer her homemade tools.

What amount of time did she spend on that one area? I can understand that sometimes an itch needs something more than a fingernail to scratch an itch.

She spent a few minutes grooming that area.
