1095

Here’s a special message that CSNW Board Member Bruce Wagman shared with the team today.

1095. That’s how many days it’s been since the Seven brought us all together. We silly humans mark things in years and that’s a good thing for some purposes, but probably for our Cle Elum nonhuman family, the diurnal cycle is more of a celebration, and each day of liberation, improvement, as much justice as possible, companionship, hope, love and sanctuary has hopefully been an anniversary. So for us it’s just our third, but we always knew they were smarter and for them it’s the 1095th anniversary since Keith and J.B. let them out of that truck and onto home sweet home.

So obviously since I am as silly a human as any, I am writing to wish us a happy third anniversary, and them a happy 1095th, and while I suppose I could Facebook them with this message as well I’ll just take this rare moment of emotion to just thank each of you all for what you have contributed to help us all do for them as much as we can, and to continue to strive for more for them. It’s a proud proud day for us all, and I am truly blessed and honored to be a part of it.

Thank you Bruce for all you and your lovely wife have done for the CE7. I also want to thank both of you for all the work you do all over the world for animals. It is the animals of the world that are thankful for your tireless work.

What a wonderful thought. My heart breaks every time I am with the Seven. It breaks will deep deep sorrow and shame for what humans have done to them and also for the shere joy of knowing that some humans have given them 1095 days of love, home and sanctuary. Thank you on their behalf CSNW people. Many many more anniversary days to come.

Well said, Mr. Wagman. For me, each celebration video or photo of a typical day showing the happiness of the chimps soothes the hurt I have inside for the life they endured before. We can never make them forget or make up for it but we can be a part of replacing those awful memories with good ones. We can be a part of showing them that there are humans who respect and love them for who they are and not what they can do for us. We can be a part of their new life where no one will ever hurt them again, they will be never again be a number and they will be loved and respected as the individuals they are. I am blessed, honored and even humbled to be one of those humans.
