Although Annie is at the bottom of the hierarchy and has her nervous moments, for the most part, the girl knows how to relax.

      Has the hierarchy changed in the last three years? I know Annie’s always been at the bottom, but as they become more confident and outgoing does that ever affect the hierarchy?

        It’s not uncommon for hierarchies to evolve. Here at CSNW, Jamie’s been consistently at the top and Annie’s been consistently at the bottom. In between, things are a little less black and white. Annie has definitely become more confident recently, but it’s possible that she’s content with her current status. She’s very good at being a subordinate chimpanzee — she toes the line and plays by the rules. I think it takes a particular type of personality to seek dominance. Jamie’s certainly got it, but Annie seems happy to stay out of things. It’s just like in human society: some people want to run for President, others are more comfortable behind the scenes.

        Of course, Annie will probably surprise us all someday and make me eat my words. 🙂

    Annie and Missy are such a good team. I love to see them play together. Annie seems quite confident with her. Thank you for these charming photos–she is a sweetheart.
