Here are a few more photos – all of these of Missy – taken with the combo new camera and “Kathy lens” which produced the photos of Jamie last week. Missy REALLY likes to eat snow, so much so that she will eat it all day long and will sometimes shiver as though she’s lowered her body temperature. She’s pretty active, though, and a game of chase gets her body warmed right up.

LOVE those close-up photos! There’s such expression in the chimps’ eyes. I can’t wait to see what is to come!
Today the weather was rainy and foggy most of the day. I think the chimps were borded with the weather and the caregivers (at least this one). Missy was sitting in the middle of the play room and Annie was trying to get her to play. Annie stomped her feet and Missy just turned her back to Annie. Finally Annie walked up to Missy, Missy’s back still turned to Annie, and jabbed Missy in the back. Missy just sat there not responding to Annies efferts to get her to play. Missy then picked up a magazine and started to look at the pages and Annie ran over to Missy and grabbed the magazine from Missy………. The chase was on.

Really gorgeous photos of really gorgeous Missy! I am loving these as well – they definitely make my day and make me feel as though I am closer to the chimps. And so does your great story Denice – thanks for sharing. I can just picture those two. 🙂
Love the pictures and sharing the story of Missy and Annie. Thank you guys for all you do for these chimps. Eating too much snow yes of course you will love your body temperature and get cold and the chills. She then needs some hot cocoa to warm her up.
