Jackie was able to get some close-up footage of Negra enjoying her night bag the other night. It really is her favorite time of the day.

aw ive waited a long time to see this thank you so much Jackie ! such a simple thing bringing so much enjoyment is amazing , it costs so little to bring the chimps a little enrichment , which makes it so criminal they were denied such things untill their new life at csnw , i adore the anticipation in neggys face and the paper rustling ! xxx

Marie, I agree with you, something so simple as nuts and goodies in a bag can bring so much pleasure.

I loved the expression on Negra’s face, like a child waiting to open a gift. I’m still amazed at the youthfulness of Negra’s face, her years of suffering no longer appear on her face, as it has on all of the chimps.

I was watching the video again and I don’t know if I could do what they do with the sunflower seeds. I’d probably end up spitting out the shell with the nut or swallowing both of them.

I love looking into Negra’s eyes as well as her face. Those eyes are so full of life. Yes, one wonders hoow the chimps made it all those years and bounced back with such child-like innocense. It sure says a lot for the care givers. Thanks to you all.

I love the look of anticipation on Negra’s face – made sweeter by her calm assurance that she would indeed get what she was so eagerly waiting for. 🙂

Negra’s sweet, sweet face and she is so calm and polite! And I just love the tummy! I am so full of gratitude every day that they no longer have to anticipate, or experience, horrible things happening to them. That they are safe to enjoy the simple things in life and know they are loved and cared for. 🙂 I worry though Elizabeth, do the chimps ever exhibit any signs of experiencing PTSD?

I just came across this video for the very first time. The look on Negra’s face right before you hand her the nut bag is priceless. So touching. How can one little brown bag bring so much joy — not just to Negra and the chimps but to all of us too. : ) I LOVE nut bags.
