Today is a Sponsor-a-Day in honor of Van‘s 1-month birthday, from the chimp moms welcoming Sarah to motherhood (bittersweet for the chimp moms) and Van to the family and from Burrito who is so happy to have another boy around!!!

I can’t believe it’s already been a month since Van was born. What a blessing for him to be surrounded by humans and chimpanzees alike, with a lot of love to share. Can’t wait to see how the chimps will act around Van, I’d love to see a picture of Van.
Cindy… Mr. Van is a very handsom lad, good natured as well, and quite the snuggle bum.

oh, gosh, I CAN’T WAIT until you put that one up, Sarah! How fun it will be for Van to meet the chimps. I wonder if they can tell that you are Van’s mom, etc.? I remember reading some interesting stuff in “Next of Kin” about chimp perception of human familial relationships, particularly as it related to the family members of their primary caregivers. Should be very interesting to see how they greet little Van, even from a distance! That will be a very exciting day! -K
