Do the chimps know their names? Were you able to say, “hey, Annie!” and get her to look at you and the camera? Or did she look at you just because you were there?

She looks so happy. 🙂 And look how beautiful and dark skinned and shiny and thick-coated Annie has become! Compare these pics today to ‘back then’:

Dear Annie: I am so glad you got two bowls at the same time tonight!

Anna: Yes, the chimps do know their names. We generally try not to disturb the chimps too much for the sake of a photograph. Because I take dozens of photos for every one that makes it to the blog, I can often find one where they just happen to glance my way.

They do look good these days! It’s hard to notice the changes when you see them nearly every day (as do the staff, volunteers and regular blog readers), but the differences are striking when you look at photos from last summer.

That beautiful coat and those bright eyes make her more beautiful every day! She has come such a long way. Thank you, J.B.! You have all done a tremendous job getting the chimps healthy. She looks great! Thanks for the smile today.
