Foxie’s gateway enrichment

For Foxie, trolls were almost like “gateway enrichment” – using trolls seems to have opened her up to using lots of other kinds of objects. Before she had trolls, she wouldn’t touch any of the objects in the enclosure. Now she uses blankets, buckets and other things to amuse herself.
Yesterday, Foxie played with a troll in a bucket for so long, and with so much enthusiasm, that she broke the bucket. But then she picked up the toy drum next to her and started using trolls as drumsticks.

Yeah for Foxie, watching her progress is enormous testimony to the healing power of sanctuary! And she gave us all unique mascots to always associate with the sanctuary!!!
The Troll hair probably does a fair imitation of the brush type drumsticks. Boy is Foxie ever focused on that Troll.
Oh Foxie! Who would have believed so much could happen to heal you in a year?!? You go girl! You deserve it.
I’m so happy to see Foxie looking so content, happy and focused as she plays with her enrichment items! What an amazing and heartwarming transformation for her over this first year at CSNW! It seems like she’s been enjoying creating noise lately, too! 🙂
Cute!! I think Foxie is teaching her trolls how to be drummers 🙂 making sure they are having a good time, just like her!
She is really blossoming…
