That Foxie and Jo pic makes me wonder….sometimes they steal food….does anyone ever try to steal a night bag? Or do they just accept that it’s 2 per chimp?
Linda, Oh yeah. Not frequently, but just the other night Jamie had her eyes set on Burrito’s, despite having her own special one in her hand. He dumped it out to sort through, but the second he left it to get more food, she swooped in. Jody will just reach over and take them as we’re serving someone else if she has a mind to. ?? For the most part they just take their own.
Amount of chow is based on weight/diet needs per individual, but generally speaking the girls get 2 bags each and the fellas 3 at breakfast and lunch and one night bag each after dinner. They usually have evening food puzzles after their night bag.
We have to keep an eye on Tiny! 🙂

Happy Birthday, Betsy! Thanks for your sponsorship of the sanctuary to celebrate your day. That close-up of Betsy Bovine is wonderful. I just love that they relax sitting in the grass & sun. Of course, that photo makes me want to hug her neck, plant a smooch on her nose and run my fingers through her top-knot!! And the chimps, well…it’s always such a pleasure in my day to see them doing anything whatsoever, even sleeping!!!
