Little Benny’s Big Debut

Diana and I recently adopted a dog named Benny and he came to live with us, along with our dog Abbey and our cat Loulou, at the sanctuary. As soon as he was acclimated to his new home and family, we brought him to meet the rowdy neighbors up the driveway. Not all of the chimps like dogs, particularly when the dogs are loud and reactive, so we have been careful not to bring some our dogs around too often in the past. But Jamie seemed to understand that Benny is harmless and would even make a good moderate-pace running partner. Now we just have to find some tiny cowboy boots for dogs!

By the way…and I mention this not just because Bob Barker, through his charitable foundation, is a supporter of CSNW…but the more observant among you might wonder why Benny isn’t neutered. He just needed to recover from an illness before it could be scheduled.

Welcome Benny, it looked like Jaymie had several walkers with her.

Congratulations, J.B. and Diana, on your newest arrival! I hope that Benny can work out as a running partner for Jamie and/or a galloping partner for Honey and Co.

Speaking of Jamie and Honey, I will be on holiday for the next two weeks, so I wish both bosses as well as Lucky happy late October/early November birthdays.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who watched this twice after reading about Bob Barker.
A big welcome to Little Benny!

Noticed Benny has a little limp? Hope he’ll live a sweet long life on the farm. Thanks for adopting an older dog!!!! They are the best!

Yes, he does have a limp. He has several old injuries, possible from being hit by a car, that healed without being treated. He’s been seen by specialists and may have a brace fitted in the future. But they agreed that staying active is good for him and he is undeterred by his many issues!

WELCOME BENNY! One of the things that makes me happier than happy is knowing a shelter/rescue dog has found a new loving home. And dear sweet Benny might just be the luckiest boy in the world. I also couldn’t be happier for you J.B., Diana, Abbey, and Loulou.

What in the world must Benny be thinking about this place he now calls home?! Thanks for this video. Seriously, it totally made my day. (Especially the thought that now and then Jamie may have a new jogging partner.)

Welcome, Benny! what a cutie! The guy next door has a pittie puppy who’s a love.
More like “what does Benny think of Jamie?” Jamie has seen dogs before. Pretty sure this was a first for Benny! Congratulations on getting a contribution from Bob Barker’s charity!

That is good news, J.B. and Diana! Congratulations on your latest rescue, well done.
I noticed the limp too, hope it is only temporary, and Benny wíll be the next “runningmate” ?.
I think Jamie would be quite happy with that; it looked like she was daring him to be faster than she is.
As for those little boots J.B., I think you will have to cobble them yourself.

    Benny appears to be limping?

Benny looks so sweet. And of course those sweet, sedate chimp people wouldn’t care for any kind of loud animal!
What did it mean for Jamie to go bipedal before starting to run? Was it a challenge? I’m truly impressed that Benny was so quietly observant. Lucky for him to find such an interesting home.

    • J.B. on October 30, 2021 at 8:06 am

Yes, that bipedal stance is her way of saying “On your marks, get set…”

Tell her we missed the “clap clap, stomp stomp”. or is that only for the gator?!

  12. Avatar Kathleen on October 30, 2021 at 6:12 am

While we all know Jamie prefers her cowboy/girl boots, stable boots, and work boots best of all….as you know, they do do make some super cool winter traction booties for dogs. Just saying. If you ever place some on Benny this winter I definitely want to see the look on Jamie’s face when she spots four boots on your on your newest copilot!

Again, I’m just thrilled to see Benny at CSNW! Please give him a back-end scratch and big kiss right on the top of that glorious head from me!

Benny looks like a sweet and wonderful boy! I think he knows he hit the jackpot by being adopted by you. Will look forward to seeing more of Benny in the future

I’m so glad Benny decided to keep you, Diana and JB. He. made an excellent choice! Thanks for explaining the future surgery to make Bob Barker happy. It was rather noticeable. Benny is such a handsome guy and he looks so good running with Jamie.

Amusing, and, interesting, idea for a blog, and, an, innovative, way to introduce “Benny”! Thank you for rescuing ALL animals!
