Working hard for lettuce

The chimpanzees absolutely LOVE lettuce. Their simple desire for a healthy food makes it a fun item to incorporate into enrichment puzzles (we can definitely give them a larger serving of iceberg than peanut butter).  Please enjoy this crunch-filled video of two busy chimpanzees.

Definitely a softer style than Willy B!

    OMG….Thank you !!!
I don’t know what it says about me, but I could watch this video all day long, and probably will 🙂

After exposure to all the horrors in the world these days the evening videos of the chimps always reminds me of something going right in the world and gives me much joy and solace. I could listen to Mave smack on her lettuce all day, just like Cee Cee says! Thank you for the time and effort that the whole staff puts into sharing your world with the chimps with us! So grateful…

LUV THIS! I was laughing at Honey B’s technique of fishing out the lettuce and bringing her lips directly up to the feed sack to save time — AKA shoveling it, ever so delicately mind you, directly into her mouth. Then, I saw Mave snitching up Honey’s dropped pieces off the floor. Both techniques are brilliant and both made laugh. Thanks for the video and for lifting my spirits today!
