Intruder!

Jamie was particularly adamant about patrolling Young’s Hill this morning.

Mostly so she could keep an eye on a visiting neighbor. After a little while, this neighbor seemed a bit lost, so Diana made sure he found his way home.

And Jamie helped.

Jamie received backup from some of the other chimps, including a rather intimidating looking Annie.

The full patrol: Foxie, Annie, Missy and Jamie.

First of all if I saw Annie looking so big and bold and I were that cow, I Would tuck tail and run for home! Perhaps since the lone cow is all black, he though he was one of the CSNW chimp family! Never a dull moment on the hill, that’s for sure!

Ha ha- that’s a great little story. I think one of the things that’s so wonderful about your sanctuary is that as Kathleen above says “Never a dull moment on the hill.” The chimps have a varied, interesting life with all sorts of exciting events. Even things that might stress them a little do provide stimulation and interest for them. And I think they relish dealing with the various issues that present themselves, including little cows who should not be around ! 🙂

I love how the chimps feel that this is their home and will defend it like they would in the wild. If I were that cow, seeing Annie all confident and intimidating would definitely make me back up.

Maybe the poor little guy was looking for some sanctuary of his own.

Those pesky cows are going to be a “problem” all summer!

Annie looked great with her display. Good thing cows are pretty calm creatures!

Power in numbers! Pretty intimidating too. Love how they protect their camp. Curious cows are so funny.

If I remember correctly Ellie the Elk wasn’t very welcome at first either and now they just ignore her.
