To Burrito, sanctuary means food. If he had his way, I believe he would eat 24 hours a day. In the five or so years since the chimps arrived at CSNW, they’ve had approximately 5,650 meals, and today’s meals are no less exciting to Burrito than those we served on Day 1.
He particularly enjoyed the golden beets caregiver Lisa served with lunch today.

It’s just wonderful this sweet boy still gets so much enjoyment everyday , I hope it’s the first and only thing he has to think about when he wakes up and he forgets his early years xxxxx

How do you know when the Chimps don’t like something in particular? Do they throw it or just don’t bother to even pick it up the second time around? Burrito definitely looks like he’s enjoying his meal! 😀
If we offer something they’ve tried before and know they don’t care for, they usually just decline to take it from us. If it’s a new food that they taste and decide they don’t like, they will just drop it or set it down on the ground (and someone less picky will inevitably pick it up).
