Brave Burrito, Cute Foxie, Smart Jamie

The video in this post shows the smartness of Jamie and the cuteness of Burrito and Foxie. Burrito, by the way, was a brave explorer again today on Young’s Hill. We came in early to let the chimps out on the hill while it was still pretty cool outside. Burrito went exploring for quite a while – on his own and with Jamie. It’s interesting to see Jamie and Burrito together, because they are definitely not the closest of friends.

OK, first a photo of Burrito.

And now the video, which was taken later, after we cleaned the playroom and set out the enrichment for the day:

Thanks, Diana—love it! So glad Burrito is exploring more.

Seeing Burrito’s growing confidence is so uplifiting. We have so much to learn from chimps and their ability to heal and flourish no matter how bad things were before.

Most of the time I can’t tell the chimps apart, but I always know which one Burrito is. He has really distinctive features. I’m jealous you all get to spend so much time with chimps every day. They’re such beautiful and fascinating creatures.

Diana — What do you mean exactly when you write that Jamie and Burrito are not the closest of friends? Do they not get along or are they just not pals?

Diana — Jackie’s new post just explained it.

Yes! Thank you, Jackie – annoying little brother is a good way to describe how Jamie treats Burrito. She used to use him as her unwitting henchman – using Burrito’s displays to back up her political moves, which inevitable got Burrito in trouble. Maybe he figured out that he was being used – he doesn’t seem to play that role any longer.

It’s great to see them enrich their skills – and nothing is preventing them from exploring… I just love how you all encourage them – bravo!

How wonderful that Burritto further explores,Youngs Hill,,
considering 2acres is not that big, then again, going from a lab cage to CSNW, it must be overwhelming.
Nonetheless,Burrittos growing confidence is a wonderful sign of his self growth and healing. Im sure it’s not always easy for him , having six females around , one of whom is quite the boss,
Heartwarmng to see Jamie showing around a bit.

How does Burritto deal with his sexual deires, he is a male and in the wild he would of been active by now, right??
so, when the girls are in esturus, how does Burritto contain him self then,? Ive always wondered,,being vasectomized, he still must feel the desire, please explain, thank you in advance,
