Forage While We Can

What a great day to be at the sanctuary! The morning started chilly and we thought the chimps couldn’t possibly want a forage on the Hill. But, to our delight it was the perfect day to be outside and especially to have a forage on the Hill. It is important to spend time outside while we can before the dreaded winter comes. The chimps spent a great deal of their day in the Green House and out on Young’s Hill. We also had some visitors for our lunch forage that Jamie was very curious about. She even had the group walk the perimeter with her.

Negra nestled in the comfy nest soaking up the morning sun:

Jody also relaxing in a soft warm bed soaking up some vitamin D:

Missy sitting on the window ledge in the Green House:

Annie being very photogenic as per usual:

Negra enjoying the forage and observing guests:

Annie foraging:

Jody with a handful of food and trying if there is any more left:

Jamie sitting on the fire hose and eating kale:

Jamie also wanted to show off a bit for the group:

And man does she have balance:

After Jamie made the group go on a walk with her:

Looks like a beautiful, busy, fun filled day at CSNW. Nerga looks so sweet in her nest.

My favorite pictures are always the ones
of the gang snuggled in their soft comfy nests. I wonder if they were ever given even one blanket all those years in their medical lab CELLS.???????

You did not mention at all as to whom the “guests” were?

What beautiful pictures of beautiful people. If my eyes do not deceive me, I detect the white mane of Dr. Goodall following after Jamie. I love the pictures of Missy and her walking atop the fire-hose high-wire. Annie was most photogenic, and it is heartening to see Negra out and about in her pasture. She seems to sleep so often that I worry about her health. I hope, therefore, that Negra and Dr. Goodall — the Survivor and the Liberator — were able to cast their eyes towards each other.

Oops…I meant to write that it was Jamie, not Missy, who is casually sauntering through the ether (not that Ms. Missy the Tomato Connoisseue doesn’t know her way about a fire hose…)

Hi Tobin! We had a group of Primatology students from Central Washington University come watch our lunch forage. Sadly Jane was not there.
