It’s so relaxing to watch the chimps groom one another. Grooming is often used as a way to, not only help clean up your friends, but also to strengthen bonds and friendships. Foxie and Burrito have a pretty close friendship and I caught them in the middle of a very sweet grooming session this afternoon.

I am always suprised at the gentleness and trust involved in grooming. To hold still while someone is “grooming” your eyes is a supreme act of trust.

Foxie is such a caring and empathetic chimp. I loved how she gave Burrito a little reassuring kiss/nip in the foraging video too, and how she always pats her trolls against her heart. I think Mr. Burrito is very lucky to have such a caring friend to fuss over him like that. It may build his confidence too!

My wife and I happened upon your booth at the Fremont solstice Fair, and I have been enjoying keeping up with the blog ever since. Seeing pictures and videos of the chimps is a bright spot to my day. Thanks so much for sharing.
